The Cape of a Child --- demo by Ray Lin

噤聲的自由 面臨壓縮與嘲弄 盼望純真依舊 奔跑吧 讓披風肆意地飄動 你不用懂 四周凋零的自由 用力地笑 為夢想奔跑 承載著我們最卑微的祈禱 飛吧 飛翔 裝上那翅膀 別失去方向 不論在何方 都不再懼怕 **************** 詞曲 written by Ray Lin 編曲、吉他與弦樂編寫 arrangement/guitar/strings by Ray Lin Photo by Juan Pablo Serrano Arenas from Pexels It is an original song I wrote this year. It actually had a different melody but because I lost my note and I couldn't remember what I wrote so this melody you hear now is the end result. And I am actually more satisfied with it. The chords progression came out first. I remember one day when I was preparing to film a cover video of my friend Charis Chua's song, I played it randomly during a break and it sounded like a song already. So I wrote and finished this song in February of 2021. I hope to create a feeling of drifting/floating in mid air through the way the chords were played. So maybe you can hear from the guitar that every chord deliberately drops from one note to another, except for the "fly" part after the chorus, where the chord hopes to express the emotion of rising and floating. Regarding the meaning of this song, although there are many things I wish to say, but perhaps I should just leave it between the lines in the lyrics. **************** The Cape of a Child written by Ray Lin When he puts on the cape He smiles as if he can save the day He’s the hero No matter how hard it gets Nothing can turn him away But when he realizes one day This world’s brokenness Will he fall in dismay?
